Mary Begier PDF Print E-mail

mary begier imageMary Begier is the epitome of the old adage: When you want something done, ask a busy person. She is as current with matters of community importance as she is local and national real estate trends. "I like knowing what's going on in my industry, my community, my family, so I remain active in all of them," said Begier.

Begier is an outspoken proponent for business with a genuine understanding of the importance of community involvement. Because she believes "in helping to create the kind of communities we want," Begier serves on a number of legislative and public policy committees.

Her focus on community was undoubtedly influenced at a young age; Begier grew up as one of nine siblings in a family that traveled often to accommodate her father’s position in the U.S. space program.

Begier's service in the United States Navy led her to Honolulu where she eventually began her career in real estate. Begier now has 29 years of experience selling real estate across the Hawaiian Islands. She represents Hawaii Island Board of Realtors (HIBR) on the Big Island Business Council, where she served as president from 2002-2003. She currently serves as President of the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay and president-elect of the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce. She was named Realtor of the Year for all three of the Realtors’ boards she sits on (the Hawaii State Association of Realtors and HIBR in 2001 and the Honolulu board in 2002).

Begier was also named to the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts by Governor Linda Lingle, and has been nominated to represent Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce on the Big Island Housing Foundation board.
